Drugs
The use of illegal drugs (and the misuse of prescribed drugs) has become a major problem in recent years.
Years ago it was mainly teenagers and people in their twenties who were regular drug users but nowadays it has become a growing problem with children and people of all ages including the elderly.
It has also become a serious problem for many professionals including doctors, lawyers, accountants, politicians, teachers so it applied to all levels of society. Some occupations seem to be affected such as the entertainment and fashion industry and even the those working in the high pressure financial world. The Peel Clinic has discreetly helped many to resolve their problem allowing them to get back to work and return to a happy and fulfilling life.
Our Clinical Director has worked in this field for many years and was responsible for incorporating the use of Clinical Hypnosis to the addiction protocol at a drug and alcohol centre he worked at in the Nineties. This rapidly became a highly popular and effective treatment which is now used at other drug centres.
The regular use of any of the popular illegal drugs can lead to serious problems which could include relationship problems, impotency, panic attacks, depression, paranoia, induced psychosis, lethargy and a range of medical complaints.
Historically some thought the use of Cocaine was not damaging but this was based on a flawed study which has subsequently been disproved numerous times. Some feel the use of cannabis if relatively harmless but the cannabis developed today is very much stronger than it was 20 years ago (up to 8 times stronger) and new research is showing that it can cause serious harm to regular users.
Those who progress to injecting drugs such as Heroin add another serious danger to themselves - such as contracting infections (such as HIV/Aids) caused by sharing needles or damaging veins through regular use.
The Peel Clinic has developed a treatment protocol which does not require residential care and home visits can be arranged for those requiring a discreet course of treatment in with total confidentiality.
