Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy
A new study conducted by The University of London has found that one of the most effective ways to stop smoking is with hypnotherapy. The study also found that blocking out all thoughts of smoking is one of the least effective ways to quit the habit in the long-term.
Researchers studied three groups, each made up of around 30 smokers, all of whom smoked more than 10 cigarettes a day.
The study found that the group who suppressed their thoughts smoked less cigarettes at the beginning of the research, but by week three they were on average, smoking three more cigarettes per day than those who were open about their habit.
The group who used hypnotherapy to stop smoking faired the best in the long term.
With suppression now shown to be a poor technique for quitting smoking, people are turning to stop smoking hypnosis often combined with nicotine replacement therapy.
